Vijoy Pandey is the CTO of Network OS, and a Distinguished Engineer at IBM. He leads the team that drives the technical vision & system and software architecture for IBM System Networking.

He was previously the CTO of Blade Network Technologies, a network switch vendor with IP around network transparent, converged, and server virtualization aware switching, and had garnered almost 60% market share in its segment of server-attached ports; and was eventually acquired by IBM. Vijoy was also the Sr. Director of Engineering, and managed the geographically dispersed R&D team for Blade. Prior to BNT, he has held various leadership and management roles in switching, security, and application delivery controller companies - including at Nortel, where he lead the R&D team that delivered industry leading ADC products; and at Alteon Web Systems where he built the industry-first suite of content acceleration appliances.

He has been active in the IEEE in DCB work and in various open source projects. Vijoy holds an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Davis.
