As an example of the tradeoffs between extending the controller and building on top of it we will present the design process of Defense4All, the OpenDaylight Anti-DoS application. We will also present how leveraging the collaborative development model of OpenDaylight enabled us, with few adaptions of the original design, to expedite the development process.
